Palmistry Hints – The Life Line September 1, 2007

The Life Line is a major line in palmistry as it represents the quality of life. It begins between the thumb and index finger and sweeps around the base of the thumb heading towards the wrist. A short life line does not indicate a short life anymore than a short person has a shorter life! It’s the quality of the line, and the lines coming to and from it that we are interested in.

A strong deeply etched line indicates a strong nervous system and strong physical constitution. Many lines coming to, and crossing the life line, are known as “worry” lines. Breaks, crosses, or islands in the life line are obstacles in life that need to be overcome.

Have a careful look at the differences between the life line in the active hand and the passive hand. The active hand shows the life that we project to the world and aspects of our life that other people will see. While the passive hand shows that which is happening internally and we do not necessarily show the world. It is our “private” life line. So a break in the life line of the active hand could show a sudden job, health or financial obstacle, but if the line is strong in the passive hand then this is not a traumatic experience.

A life line that sweeps well into the centre of the palm represents a person who delights in exploring life and they yearn to travel and broaden their horizons. A line that hugs the base of the palm suggests a person who prefers the quieter life and loves to stay home-based. So if you or your partner has a wide sweep to the life line and feel a “need” to travel, then don’t hold back – get out into the world. The rest of us will understand.

Planetary Highlights

I hope you enjoyed the Lunar Eclipse in Pisces on 28th August which was visible in Australia. I felt privileged to watch in awe as the very earth on which we stand blocked the Sun’s light and caused a shadow to cross the moon, momentarily turning it red. Being in Pisces, the eclipse represented emotional awakening and renewal, not only for Pisceans but for all. The strength of an eclipse is emphasised in the part of the world where it’s visible, and the reddening of the moon also symbolically turned up the emotional volume with this eclipse.

There will be a Solar Eclipse on 11th September in Virgo but, not being visible to us, its strength is not amplified. Yet all solar eclipses have an impact, especially in terms of encouraging the old to make way for the new. Something must die for something new to be born; something must finish for something to start. All of us, especially Virgos, will need to discern what to “prune” in order to allow something new to flourish.

The Moon will begin her monthly journey with a new moon on 11th September in Virgo and the key words for this new moon will be “react, adapt and change”. The full moon will be on the 27th September in Aries and its essence is to symbolically be prepared to let go of the old so we can develop anew. On the 11th October the next new moon will be in Libra and it represents a growing imagination and the ability to recognise opportunities. The full moon will be on 26th October in Taurus and it embodies the ability to realise where we have been, and where we are going.

Mercury will go retrograde (appear to move backwards) from 11th October for 3 weeks. This is when we should all be careful of documents and communication. Funny as it sounds, these things can literally seem to go backwards through lost paperwork and communication difficulties. This effect is likely to be heightened for Scorpios and Librans

In mid-October Venus repeats her close connection to Saturn. This gives all of us, especially Virgos and Leos, another chance to build on dreams and rethink what truly matters. It’s a time to reflect on where we have focused our desires and decide if we have attained what we want. In love, it’s a time we may commit to a deeper and more secure relationship.

A significant feature for September and October is Jupiter squaring Uranus. This alignment was active in January and May and now reaches its final connection. Representing optimism, and perhaps even overconfidence, we can feel the urge to take risks, to think outside the square, to break with the known and to embrace change. This is especially significant for Sagittarians; yet, being a general alignment, its influence could be experienced by all signs.

Saturn is moving out of Leo and entering Virgo on 2nd September for a two-year journey. All Leos will breathe a sigh of relief as the planet of stark reality passes, whereas Virgos will be challenged to face realities and commit resources to building for the future. But Virgos are practical earthy types and have been waiting for just such an opportunity for greater stability in life.

Pluto turns direct on Sep 8th and in October makes a final exact connection with the Galactic Centre. This represents a transformational energy connecting with the very centre of our galaxy. Previous encounters in the early 1500s and late 1700s have coincided with the religious Reformation in Europe and the American Revolution respectively. So we can expect big changes with this current alignment, yet we do not know what these will be. But as the past shows, they are likely to involve different cultural and social ways of thinking after breaking from old outdated beliefs.

All the best for the season – and remember-

Look to your hands and know you are unique; and look to the sky and know you are part of something bigger than yourself.

Yours in the stars

Your Sun Sign Forecast Sep/Oct 2007 September 1, 2007

Creative impulses building within you are likely to be activated on 27th September when you have the full moon shining brightly in your sign. This encourages bringing your inner desires and heart’s dreams into manifestation. Expect to be restless from late September to throughout October, but enjoy having insight into creating what you want.

A serious and settled energy has just moved into your fun-time sector of the chart. So your hobbies, sports and fun relationships with people will become more planned, practical and predictable. But it may also seem like you are being prevented from doing what you really enjoy. Instead of being inhibited, restructure your activities.

Mars is in your sign all of September and activates high energy levels that you can use to your advantage. Your ruler, Mercury, then enters your health sector and asks if there is something about your health that you have neglected. The link between energy and health is strong, making it an ideal time for a “get fit and healthy” program.

Mars, the warrior god, will be in your sign all of October. This represents action and activity but you caring, protective Cancerians do have a tendency to repress energy. This is the time to use the “oomph” supplied to you. It’s best to take the initiative and succeed, rather than internalise the energy and eventually over-react.

Venus, the goddess of love and creativity, returns to your sign throughout September and heralds the departure of stern, strict Saturn from Leo. The journey of restriction and rebuilding over the last 2 years is now over. It’s time to play, but it’s also important to be careful with your finances.

In September, Saturn enters Virgo and heralds the perfect time to start building the future. The world is ready to see you stand up and make your mark. It does mean work, so some of you might see this as a restriction. A new moon in Virgo with a partial solar eclipse on 11th Sep makes it easier to let go of past mistakes and move ahead.

September is the month of many different activities, new people around you and a growing sense of curiosity. Hence it is a great time to learn about others’ perspectives on life. In October your work sector is activated. During this time there is a new moon in Libra which suggests that is the perfect time to take advantage of new work possibilities.

Your travel, exploration and learning sector is being activated. Now is the time to spread your wings and think outside of the box. You may want to travel for fun or travel to learn, or it may be time to undertake a course of study. The new ideas and possibilities you are gaining will be used later in the year.

Later in September your career, or your ‘role-in-the-world’, sector of the chart is beset with difficulties. These are unlikely to go away easily so be aware that you might need to adapt and change. In fact a restructure of your working life might be called for. But as a Sagittarius, change is your middle name and adjustments will bring success.

An issue to do with your past will resurface. Did you deal with it then? If not, now is the ideal time to look back. Say a proper goodbye – or renew your contact with old friends. At the same time your relationship sector is activated but your loved ones may want to go places and do things that you are unable to do.

Take care of your own health or the health of someone dear to you. A simple change in diet could really help, as unhealthy lifestyles can cause toxins to build up. Your sense of responsibility is awoken and you may feel like taking and managing other people’s problems. Do take the time to be diplomatic.

The beautiful full moon eclipse in Pisces on 28th August will stay with you for months. It brings heightened emotional feelings, creativity and insight. Honour the sensitive person within by being creative – even painting a room or planting a garden is creative. If you block this energy you may find yourself looking for faults in those that love you.
