Palmistry Hints – Both Hands? January 1, 2008

Palmistry gives us a window to our needs, our strengths, our past and our future. This is very useful in the practical aspects and general decisions of life. But palmistry also gives information on our hidden and buried needs and how we reach to satisfy them. And for this we need both hands.

Our dominant hand is usually the one we write with, and shows our outer and visible life. It is the hand we look at for career, health and past and future events. It is the life we lead that other people can see, and for most people this is our right hand. The other hand, usually the left, is our hidden inner life, our feelings and our potentials. The differences between each hand can be quite marked. Just as the left side of our brain rules our logical mind and the right side of our brain rules the creative world of imagination, we use both our hands to reach out and take hold of life. The theory is that it’s the electrical currents flowing from our brain which creates the shape, folds and lines on our hands. So our hands are a product of our brain and its potentials.

The major lines in palmistry are the life line, the head line and the heart line, but there are numerous secondary lines. The life line shows vitality, health and general well being. The heart line shows our physical and feeling heart and the head line shows our thoughts, thinking and communication. We look at the quality and depth of the line and of particular interest is any bars or crosses. These are obstacles or harm to be overcome depending on which hand or which line they occur. I must reassure you that a short life line does not mean a short life. In fact, we cannot tell the length of life. Even the ancients who were masters of the occult arts said things like “barring chariot accidents, you will have a long healthy life”.

Everybody knows that palmistry uses the lines, but most people don’t realise that the shape of the whole hand, length and shape of the fingers, the padding, the fingerprints, and the flexibility, texture and consistency of the hand are all used in hand analysis.

Clairvoyants and mediums use palmistry as an aid in bridging the psychic connection. But true palmistry is a scientific analysis of the hand and the lines on the palm. I have two planets in Virgo which means I have a tendency, (some would say a huge drive!) to analyse everything, you can well image that I favour the scientific approach to palmistry. And it’s all there in my hands! In your own hands are your inner potentials and feelings, as well as a map of your life and they show each of us as unique individuals.

So the point of this article is – whether you come for you first reading or for your update, please bring both hands!

Yours in the stars

The most important thing to happen this season is Pluto’s movement from Sagittarius to Capricorn. Where, except for a few months later this year, it will spend the next 17 years. The energy of Pluto, who is the god of the underworld, entering the earthy sign of Capricorn represents a time of changes in the corporate and business world. It also brings challenges to the banking sector and resources sector. This is happening as Saturn, who represents responsibility, structure and restriction, is making itself at home in Virgo. Capricorn and Virgo are both earth signs. We are a country that has relied heavily on our resources and wealth buried in the ground. Thus over the next 17 years I expect marked changes into how we manage our banking, our national resources and the corporate structure. Not only the national, but our personal bank balances will suffer. And by the time its over, we will relearn the importance of saving high and borrowing low. So if you are looking at a big loan with no deposit, think again!

There will be a New Moon on the 8th January in Capricorn followed by a Full Moon on the 23rd January in Leo. Then there will be a New Moon on the 7th February in Aquarius with a Solar Eclipse, which is not visible here. And finally a Full Moon on 21st Feb in Virgo with a Lunar Eclipse which is also not visible here.

Begin your projects, plans, aspirations, goals and wishes on a new moon and use the energy of a full moon to adapt plans, to make changes and prepare for the coming new moon.

The unpredictable energy that started last month will continue and perhaps bring situations to a head. But advantages can be gained if you take the time to talk, reflect and reassess to find the hidden nature behind any situation. Then in February you can look to the future; but your energy levels will change, and not always for the better.

Wow; slow down. It’s most unlike you to be going at this pace.  But then maybe it’s time to speed up and fly free. So release a few of your shackles and plan an escape to greener pastures. But chances are this will adversely affect your finances so keep an eye on your budget. But a good escape is worth it.

Your increased energy or restlessness will create events that will give you a chance to reflect on your real goals. I know it’s frustrating and probably confusing, but as Mercury goes retrograde it means February is a time for going over what you have already done. This gives you a perfect opportunity to find mistakes and adjust the outcome.

You have been in an emotional protective role and begin this season feeling quite restrained. But as time unfolds it’s time to slowly spread your wings and try some tentative new advances. In February you have Venus travelling through your relationship section and this can be a time of uniting in harmony with your loved ones, or finding new loved ones.

With your ruler conjunct Jupiter, this season begins with opportunities which manifests as the Full Moon in Leo shines brightly on the 23rd January. What did you achieve? Then through February it’s a time of reflection on what you want to attain the next time you have such opportunities. Ask the other important people in your life; they will offer insight.

The travels of your ruler, Mercury, represent a world that is demanding you see the bigger picture. But this time it’s frequently lost in a mist of confusion amidst harsh realities. The Virgo Full Moon on the 21st February is also a Lunar Eclipse so emotions will be heightened. It’s a good time to reflect on why you have reacted as you have.

Got some ideas on improving your home base? I bet you have. Your ideas are probably magnificent – but may not exactly be practical. But the only way to change is to dream of what could be. Opportunities will present themselves in February, just don’t be dazzled by all your ideas that you fail to see the real opportunities around you.

Look around carefully for information that needs to be unearthed but may be hiding in plain view. Once you open your eyes you will find that all that you need to know. Then it’s time to undertake a period of personal renewal with the view to get rid of old garbage, both the rubbish around the home and rubbish in your heart.

Now that Jupiter, your ruler, has now moved out of Sagittarius you may feel ill at ease. Especially now that the focus has moved to your relationship sector so its all about the people in your life and those you love. You want all the good things that come with love, but they seem to be indecisive and impulsive.

A New Moon in Capricorn on the 8th January makes this season an ideal time to start something new. Combine positive thinking with action and reap the rewards as Venus, the goddess of love, enters Capricorn later in January.  She brings benefits and something of value will come your way. Just don’t miss the silver while you wait for the gold.

You are affected by Mercury’s backwards and forwards movement and thus it’s a season of indecision. But it’s also a time to reflect and reassess on the past. Then the New Moon on the 7th Feb in Aquarius will be a perfect time to release the past and focus on the future, so take advantage and develop new ideas for yourself.

This is a season for making some choices between your role in the world, and what your home and family want you to do. It may seem like some people take delight in telling you what to do, but this is just their way of working through their own issues. Try to stay focused and trust in your own decisions.
