June 2009 Ancient Moon Gardening

Australia  AEST

moon phases 1

2nd – 6th June Waxing Fertile 2nd Quarter

Perfect for all planting, especially fruity annuals. I will be using this time to continue planting shrubs, both native and exotic.

8th June Full Moon in Sagittarius at 4.11am

Rest and do nothing in the garden. Although it is time to do something outside of your normal everyday activities. Stretch your boundaries!

9th – 11th June Waning Fertile Moon 3rd Quarter

Its time for maintenance, to prune for growth and plant root crops.

12th -13th June Waning Barren Moon

These are the days we would choose to harvest for storage to minimise crop loss through mildew and rot.

19th – 20th June Waning Fertile Moon 4th Quarter

This is not a time to do anything beyond maintenance.

23rd June New Moon in Cancer at 5.34am

Rest time in the garden so put your feet up and do nothing. As it’s a Cancer Moon it is time to connect with family and stay close to home.

24th June Waxing Fertile 1st Quarter

Perfect for all planting, especially leafy annuals.

29th – 30th June Waxing Fertile 2nd Quarter

Perfect for all planting, especially fruity annuals.

Any dates not mentioned are “barren” times and good for weeding, maintenance and pest control.
