 What’s that in the sky?

For all you night owls

As with last month, the only planet in the sky is Saturn, the ancient King of the Gods. He is hard to find but once you do see him with a telescope you will never forget.  Look on May 14th and he will be the creamy colored light just below the Moon.

Duck outside at bed time to say hello to the Scorpion rising in the east.  Look for the huge “S” in the sky. Let the Moon be your guide when she will be at his head on 18th May.

For all you early birds

No planets are going to be visible. They are all traveling so close to the Sun. But you will see the Scorpion begin his dive head first into the western horizon before the sun comes up. Then turn around to see the Southern Cross lying on its side.
