August 2011

Aries 21 March – 19 April

The stars are asking you to think of your long-term plans and forget about the day-to-day “stuff”. Let yourself fantasize and image all sorts of possibilities.  One of them will come true in the future. Perhaps some house changes are needed. Stay alert as there is a tense connection that could mean disharmony between loved ones and family members. Keep them separate, or stay out of the way.

Taurus 20 April – 20 May

The Full Moon falls in your work zone bringing confusion and perhaps a change of status. Do you want more responsibility, or less? Perhaps you feel you have become invisible? There are no answers this month; only questions. Keep asked questions and you will eventually ask the right one, and get the answer. And while you keep asking, enjoy the celebrations happening around you, let your hair down and become younger in mind and spirit, if not body.

Gemini 21 May – 21 June

The stars suggest that this is a month for important decisions.  The old saying is “act in haste, repent at leisure”.  Since Venus is in your home zone I suggest that spending some quiet time at home will help you think.  Seek out respected and qualified people to give you advice and wait till the month is ended before you finally decide. Fun times will prove to be financial burden, but hey; enjoy the fun.

Cancer 23 June – 22 July

There is really no reason to feel insecure. Do what needs to be done so you feel supported. And unfortunately it means you need to do if for yourself! Imagine you are a tree, and need to develop a strong root system to hold yourself in place against the wind.  This is a perfect month for anchoring yourself and building up your sense of worth. And also the perfect time to develop a lively sense of curiosity.

Leo 23 July – 22 Aug

Mercury, the god of communication, will be going backwards in Leo this month.  So expect delays, misunderstands and general confusion. This is fine if you are sipping drinks on a desert island; but in normal day to day life you will be easily distracted. No use trying to force the issue. The best thing to do is go slowly and carefully, and to stay focused and be totally in the moment.

Virgo 23 Aug – 22 Sep

Venus enters your sign, and along with your coming “birth”day and a Virgo Moon, she promises a fresh sparkling start to the next 12 months.  You have done so much hard work, so allow yourself to relax and what you need will come to you. One thing to be aware of is that your eyes are bigger than your wallet. So I know it will be hard to limit expenses.

Libra 23 Sep – 23 Oct

Saturn has been in Libra making it tough going for you.  The good news is that this is all for your greater good in the end. But the bad news is that for this month Mars the warrior god ensures that it will get harder. Especially around the work zone, which means hassles are developing in your job.  Accept that you will not win any arguments. Use, or practice, those wonderful negotiation skills you have.

Scorpio 24 Oct – 21 Nov

This is the month that people who should know better stop being helpful, and become downright obstructive.  Anybody that has authority over you will be withholding information. This means bosses, the law, service providers, or even the person on the other side of the counter. Don’t bother asking why; just accept it and wait till later in the month for them to get their facts right.

Sagittarius 22 Nov – 21 Dec

The advice you receive this month must be taken with a grain of salt. This is the old-fashioned way of saying that you won’t be told enough of the right information to make good decisions.  They are not being malicious; they are just misled, or gossiping.  The good news is that Venus is shining in your zone of work and status, so you are being noticed. How do you want to use this?

Capricorn 22 Dec – 19 Jan

Venus lights up your escape zone so ask yourself; do you want a holiday? You deserve it, so look at some brochures but delay make the necessary arrangements until next month. If you need to learn something, think deeply on an issue, or finish a project, then now is the time as your mind is wide open to receive new ideas.  The people around you will be having hassles with their work. How involved do you want to become?

Aquarius 20 Jan – 18 Feb

You are happy when your mind is busy. But this month you are not using your mind enough. So life seems dull and just “chugs” along. Added to this, the Full Moon is in your sign, so emotions will be high, especially if you have not done what you wished. Other influences suggest that confusion is a real possibility.  The solution is to use your imagination for alternative possibilities. Or wait a month!

Pisces 19 Feb – 20 March

With Venus in your zone of relationships you will reconnect with loved ones, or find ones to love! At the very least there will be people to meet which brings a smile to your face. An impulsive action or a risky activity will have hidden problems. Young people may be trying to hide something from you. So keep asking the kids, “What have you been up too”, and remember to smile when they tell you.

If you are born close to the border of two signs then you are on the cusp and you are a blend of the two sun signs. The dates here are the 2011 Sun Ingress dates for Australia. For all you night owls

Saturn is low on the western horizon and follows the Sun so he is slowly sinking and will disappear early evening. Let the Moon be your guide and look at the crescent Moon close by on the 4th August. The brightest star in this corner of the sky is Spica which is the wheat in the hands of the constellation of the Virgin. I just love the dramatic Scorpion who will be clearly visible overhead with his stinger curving away to the right. Turn around to see the Southern Cross lying a little to the right. The two brightest stars in this corner of the sky will point to it and are known as, wait for it…… the pointers!

For all you early birds

The bright star nearly overhead is Jupiter. The red twinkle of Mars will slowly rise in the dawn before the sun comes up. Half way between Mars and Jupiter is the bright star Aldebaran in the eye of Taurus the bull. Look nearby to see the Pleiades, a hazy cluster also known as the seven sisters situated in his shoulder. Yes, the star pictures are upside down to us.

On the 21st the quarter Moon will be next to Jupiter and on the 26th the Moon will be next to Mars.
