What’s that in the sky?

For all you night owls

Jupiter is the bright light shining at night in the east and the moon will be next to him on the 9th.

Venus will be the evening star and following the sun down in the west. The Moon will be next to her on the 27th.

By the end of the month you can see the Seven Sisters or Pleiades in the shoulder of Taurus the bull and the bright start of Aldebaran in his eye.

For all you early birds Jupiter is the bright light in the west and will get lower and lower down towards the horizon as the month passes. Mars is also visible and is close to Regulus the bright star in the heart of Leo.

Since Mars is difficult to find see I suggest you let the moon be your guide on the 20th and look at the reddish light close by.

The ancients would worry to see Mars close by the Lion as the new day dawned. Ever heard the old saying – ” Beware when you grab a tiger by the tail”. Well that’s what the heavens suggest will happen. Ask yourself, what do I want to achieve when I grab the wild cat. What do i want to achieve when I see the consequences of the wild cat being grabbed. Take considered action and the outcome will be good. Be rash and by golly he will be annoyed at you.
