Aries 20 March – 19 April

No standing still for you! There is lots of restlessness and movement. Important decisions need to be made. Not making a decision is still making a decision of NO. So don’t leave it up to the universe. Only you can decide. My suggestion is to go with the forces of change.

Taurus 20 April – 20 May

This month continues with the stars asking you to pay attention to money and what you truly value in life. Get rid of unnecessary or worn out possessions. Clear the clutter and have a purge in your wardrobe. Notice how you spend money. Is it to nurture yourself? If so; is it working?

Gemini 21 May – 20 June

This is a perfect time for deeper connections with friends and loved ones; or new friends and loved ones! This involves you listening more than doing the talking.  They want to be heard and it will help you immensely if you allow them this time to be center stage. We all need our time in the spotlight.

Cancer 21 June – 21 July

Responsibilities are many, and a caring person such as yourself will feel their weight. All you have to do is smile and give all your love and let the outcome be what it will. Everybody is doing the best they can with what they have. Changes at work will not go away; so plan on adapting.

Leo 22 July – 22 Aug

This is a great month to have a party or a celebration. Your party will be the talk of town! The artistic among you will be surging with creative energies. The rest of you will be surprised at your levels of innovation and imagination. Be daring and inspiring; just like a child who has not yet learnt to fear the world.

Virgo 23 Aug – 22 Sep

Your work situation is awkward and you will not know what to do. Let it go, because this month the stars are pointing you to focus your energies at home. It’s a perfect time to fix something, and beautify something else. Spend time with parents or extended family. Then work issues disappear into the background as your worries fade.

Libra 23 Sep – 22 Oct

Time to exercise you vocal cords and talk! You have things to say and lots of people to say them too. You are surrounded by people who need to change. And since you will have a great way with words, and the perfect way to put an idea, you can help them achieve self-understanding.

Scorpio 23 Oct – 21 Nov

This is what you have been waiting for. A breakthrough! Or it may be a breakout!

But whatever it is, the situation has changed and you are now getting back control of your life. And it’s a place you like to be. Good things are happening with your money, even if it’s only that you know what’s going on.

Sagittarius 22 Nov – 20 Dec

Please shine for us all. This is your month to be the radiant light that we need. People will be attracted to you. Doors will open, and opportunities are there to be grabbed. Make a 6 month, 1 year and 5 year list of exciting, even outrageous goals. Don’t be shy and try to hide. The stars are pushing you forward.

Capricorn 21 Dec – 19 Jan

It’s your month to relax and prepare for your re”birth”-day. Let go of tensions, unwind and find peace and quiet. You are too restless to sit still, so use the energy productively. Stay away from the spotlight or you will be exposed and vulnerable. This is sacred space-time. Be invisible, and do something that nurtures you.

Aquarius 20 Jan – 17 Feb

A party or celebration may not go according to plan. Taking a risk will lead to trouble, so please do take care. Young people will be full of energy and vitality and will not understand your needs. At first you will stay calm, but later in the month your reactions will instantaneous and you will take others by surprise.

Pisces 18 Feb – 19 March

News about things happening in your work place brings you benefits if you accept a new idea or direction. This can take your mind off concerns about parents or someone else in your extended family. Trust yourself to give someone advice. Financial goals for the future are back in the spotlight, and will be for ages.

A lot of people do not realize that the Sun moves into the 12 signs of the zodiac on slightly different dates each year. If you are born close to the border of two signs then you are on the cusp and you are a blend of the two sun signs. The dates here are the 2012 Sun Ingress dates for Australia. Now you know when to plant – you will want to know when to

  • prune to enhance growth,
  • prune to reduce growth,
  • fertilize,
  • weed,
  • harvest crops
  • treat pets for fleas and ticks
  • manage plant and animal diseases
  • and make gardening easier!

Order the Ancient Moon Gardening Super Almanac – a fantastic tool for all gardeners!

How to make a Russian Happy!

There it was; a Black Russian. And I could not say “No”!

Recently I had filled my veggie garden, but suddenly got my hands on a different species of tomato; the reputed Black Russian. He was healthy looking, but incredibly pot bound and he needed to be in the ground.

But the timing was wrong. I should wait to plant him in a waxing fertile time in over two weeks, but I knew he couldn’t wait.  So what does an avid Moon Gardener do?

I consulted the Almanac and picked the best time that I could. The Moon was waning, which was not good, but at least it was fertile, which was good. And a half happy Russian is better than a dead one.

So Moon Gardening can fit in with the little odd things that pop up in life. It’s certainly better to pick the best of the best times. But sometimes we have to pick the best of the bad times. Just like life!

A Place in the Universe

A Place in the Universe (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

What’s that in the sky for December 2012?

look up and be impressed. To get you bearings you only need to remember that the sun rises in the east, and sets in the west.

For all you night owls

Jupiter is the bright stars rising in the east. Let the Moon be your guide when she will be next to Jupiter on the 25th and 26th Dec. These are wonderful nights for going for a very late walk and looking at the stars, especially after your big Christmas lunch and dinner.

The Pleiades, in the heart of Taurus the Bull, is the cluster of stars not far away.

Mars will be visible for a few moments after sunset in the east. His reddish glow gives him away. If you are having trouble finding Mars, let the Moon be your guide when she will be next to him on the 15th Dec.

The Southern Cross is always visible and is upside down low on the southern horizon. The two bright pointer stars will show you the way.

And there is no need to look for the Scorpion. He is in hiding, for when the Bull rules the sky all night any sensible Scorpion will hide under a rock. In other words, Taurus is directly opposite the Scorpio. So if one is visible all night the other must be out in the daytime and hence invisible to us through the Suns light.

For all you early birds

Now you can see Jupiter setting in the west in the wee small hours of the morning. The Moon will be next to Jupiter on the 25th and 26th but you will have to be up darn early!  Or stay up late from the previous night!

If you have a very flat horizon you may be lucky enough to see Venus for a few minutes before the Sun lightens the sky.

Saturn will be out for longer, but he is hard to pick from the surrounding skies.  Let the Moon be your guide when she is next to Saturn on the 11th Dec.

The Southern Cross is always visible in the mornings and is on its side in the south. That’s why they call it the Southern Cross.

The movement of the planets herald time when we feel mood changes, times we are galvanized to take action, and others times when we lack energy. There are shifts in feelings and energy levels at all New and Full Moons, when planets move into signs, or when there are connections (aspects) between planets, or when they turn retrograde or move direct again.

Pay attention to the days when these shifts happen and notice your feelings and energy levels. This understanding will enhance your experience of life. Enjoy the ride!

Birthday Greetings go out to

Sagittarius 22 Nov – Dec

“I do not think that I will ever reach a stage when I will say, ‘This is what I believe. Finished.’ What I believe is alive…and open to growth”.

Madeleine L’Engle:

Thank you to the Sagittarian who showed that we can move on and follow that which is ethical and rings true.

Capricorn 21 Dec – 19 Jan

“This is your life. If you want to fritter it away with your fears, then you will fritter it away, but you won’t get it back later.” (I forget who said this)

Thank you to the Capricorn who showed how to stay on a chosen path through thick and thin.
