How to make a Russian Happy!

There it was; a Black Russian. And I could not say “No”!

Recently I had filled my veggie garden, but suddenly got my hands on a different species of tomato; the reputed Black Russian. He was healthy looking, but incredibly pot bound and he needed to be in the ground.

But the timing was wrong. I should wait to plant him in a waxing fertile time in over two weeks, but I knew he couldn’t wait.  So what does an avid Moon Gardener do?

I consulted the Almanac and picked the best time that I could. The Moon was waning, which was not good, but at least it was fertile, which was good. And a half happy Russian is better than a dead one.

So Moon Gardening can fit in with the little odd things that pop up in life. It’s certainly better to pick the best of the best times. But sometimes we have to pick the best of the bad times. Just like life!
