2014-12 December Earth Moon and Stars with Kerry Galea easy print

Aries 20 March – 19 April

You will not be still for a second! So much movement! Expect to be travelling on both short and long trips, so don’t run out of physical or emotional energy. This strong “oomph” also applies to your relationships. So use these heightened energy levels constructively by working together, or they will result in tension.

Taurus 20 April – 20 May

Making decisions with loved ones will be easy. And this is the perfect month to let go and release what you don’t need. So it is time to clean and sort. But this is also a time that things can be taken away from you. If so, I suggest you surrender and allow it to happen. Holding on achieves nothing.

Gemini 21 May – 20 June

There is a renewed energy in connecting to others and having long conversations. As a Gemini you will love this! And suddenly it feels right to value a healthy lifestyle and body. And so it’s a perfect month to start new and inspiring habits. Expect to feel heightened emotions around mid-month.

Cancer 21 June – 22 July

There is a focus on learning new information about issues to do with your own health. The mundane realities and routine of life, including your work, will be noticeably just that; work! But it’s a perfect time to be at home with family, and build something together, as harmony will be easy to achieve.

Leo 23 July – 22 Aug

Be prepared to make snap decisions. There is no time to reflect or to ask for more information; make up your mind. And this is a perfect month to be creative and do something enjoyable, or to take a risk. You are an awesome Leo lion, so you can easily be daring!

Virgo 23 Aug – 22 Sep

Your recent high energy levels are fading and you will be tired. Spend a few weeks resting and recuperating. Especially have some time on your own! Demands on your time from your boss, or any authority figure, will lead to heightened emotions. But on the positive side; enjoy leisure time spent with children or younger people.

Libra 23 Sep – 22 Oct

Mars is about to enter Libra and push you to action. Let him inspire and energize you. But you could also find yourself responding in a surprisingly fiery way, especially to unexpected news. Another tense time is at the end of the month, so keep on reminding yourself that you are normally a great negotiator.

Scorpio 23 Oct – 21 Nov

Congratulations, as your sense of purpose and hard work have started to show results. It may have been “heads down and tail up” over the last few months but now you can see that your future has changed. Ask yourself what you now value. And adjust your long-term plans with new goals and dreams.

Sagittarius 22 Nov – 21 Dec

This is a perfect month to learn something new, perhaps even before you realize you need to know! So open your mind and allow the grey matter in your head to work hard! And remember the old saying; “knowledge is power”. Then allow your heart to tell you what to do with the knowledge you gain.

Capricorn 22 Dec – 19 Jan

Authority figures are feeling edgy. They want to push and are looking for someone to push back. Will it be you? And is pushing back the right thing to do? It may help you to know that no matter what you do; they will keep on pushing. So only fight the battles you can win.

Aquarius 20 Jan – 18 Feb

If you needed a time to make what you think is an arduous trip, and to do it easily; then this is the month. You have the spirit of adventure and a delight in experiencing something new. Real change can happen. But it is not a good month if you are involved in legal wrangles.

Pisces 19 Feb – 20 March

There is a new development at work and it’s a great idea to ask questions to find out exactly what people expect of you. Later in the month your debts, or how you have been wasting money and assets, will surprise you. Impulse buying will only get you into trouble.

A Place in the Universe

A Place in the Universe (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

What’s that in the sky for December 2012?

look up and be impressed. To get you bearings you only need to remember that the sun rises in the east, and sets in the west.

For all you night owls

Jupiter is the bright stars rising in the east. Let the Moon be your guide when she will be next to Jupiter on the 25th and 26th Dec. These are wonderful nights for going for a very late walk and looking at the stars, especially after your big Christmas lunch and dinner.

The Pleiades, in the heart of Taurus the Bull, is the cluster of stars not far away.

Mars will be visible for a few moments after sunset in the east. His reddish glow gives him away. If you are having trouble finding Mars, let the Moon be your guide when she will be next to him on the 15th Dec.

The Southern Cross is always visible and is upside down low on the southern horizon. The two bright pointer stars will show you the way.

And there is no need to look for the Scorpion. He is in hiding, for when the Bull rules the sky all night any sensible Scorpion will hide under a rock. In other words, Taurus is directly opposite the Scorpio. So if one is visible all night the other must be out in the daytime and hence invisible to us through the Suns light.

For all you early birds

Now you can see Jupiter setting in the west in the wee small hours of the morning. The Moon will be next to Jupiter on the 25th and 26th but you will have to be up darn early!  Or stay up late from the previous night!

If you have a very flat horizon you may be lucky enough to see Venus for a few minutes before the Sun lightens the sky.

Saturn will be out for longer, but he is hard to pick from the surrounding skies.  Let the Moon be your guide when she is next to Saturn on the 11th Dec.

The Southern Cross is always visible in the mornings and is on its side in the south. That’s why they call it the Southern Cross.

The movement of the planets herald time when we feel mood changes, times we are galvanized to take action, and others times when we lack energy. There are shifts in feelings and energy levels at all New and Full Moons, when planets move into signs, or when there are connections (aspects) between planets, or when they turn retrograde or move direct again.

Pay attention to the days when these shifts happen and notice your feelings and energy levels. This understanding will enhance your experience of life. Enjoy the ride!

Your Sun Sign Forecast October 2012

Aries 20 March – 19 April

Beware of reacting to news, or perhaps legal advice, as it may be given in haste or it is plain old-fashioned wrong!  There are so many layers to what is going on you may never get to the truth. There is better news in regards to your beloved, new friends, new lovers, or even old ones!  So kick up your heels and enjoy yourself.

Taurus 20 April – 20 May

A party is in the air. Relax and have fun, for soon relationships of any kind will enter deep waters. If they are superficial they will go through a tense and difficult time. If you let yourself go and surrender to the soul connection, then magic is possible. But only if you can be truly who you are, and by being openly honest.

Gemini 21 May – 20 June

Sometimes things must slow down. It’s been a frantic pace for you but this is a perfect time to take the opportunity to simply breathe and rest. But not so with your loved ones who are in action mode and may even become feisty. Concentrate on what must be done without taking on an extra load. Spend time at home.

Cancer 21 June – 21 July

The ability to be stern and disciplined, but loving and warm at the same time is called “tough love”. If you have been far too soft, then you really need to toughen up or be eaten alive. And its kids or young people who will press your buttons and force you to be stronger.  A party or celebration can help set new rules.

Leo 22 July – 22 Aug

There is a great chance to save some money this month, so don’t waste it when it comes you way. Somebody at home or a family member does not know things they should know, or they are not telling you everything. Or what’s worse is maybe they don’t know that they don’t know it! Expect confusion and you will not be disappointed.

Virgo 23 Aug – 22 Sep

Lucky you! Venus enters your sign and gives you an aura of confidence and enthusiasm. It is amazing how this magnetic energy can bring success. Take your time with any decisions for as they say, “act in haste, repent at leisure”. Work issues may appear to go backwards but it will continue to improve in the long-term.

Libra 23 Sep – 22 Oct

This is a month to be very careful and protect your money and your treasured valuables. This means either having a lock or insurance or by just being observant. On the other hand this is a great month to initiate new plans and start something new. So create a wish list of your dreams, and take the action needed to make it happen.

Scorpio 23 Oct – 21 Nov

You want to speak but you must guard you tongue. Be succinct as a few words are all that is needed. And you have the ability to concentrate deeply and to come straight to the point of any matter under discussion. Others may see you as being reserved. Your outlook may be so practical that you become gloomy.

Sagittarius 22 Nov – 20 Dec

Great things happening at work. Send in your resume; ask for a raise, or a day off. And with Mars moving into Sagittarius your energy levels will be high and you will have the need for action. If you sit around being listless you will become argumentative. If you get up and do something stimulating, or exercise; you will be happy.

Capricorn 21 Dec – 19 Jan

This is a great month to travel or study. As long as you are learning or seeing something new you will be content. A friend can be harsh and your lack of reactions will surprise you. Now is not the time. Instead focus on work and set yourself a short-term goal as this will lead to long-term benefits.

Aquarius 20 Jan – 17 Feb

Something hidden is happening at work, paid or otherwise.  Things are going on behind the scenes and nobody is saying anything. This is a time to knuckle down and work hard and try and do as they say; “head down, bum up and keep your nose clean”. Plodding is not your strong point, but persevere and stay the distance.

Pisces 18 Feb – 19 March

This a nice lovey-dovey month. You will delight in being with people, and they with you. So go out and have fun, you may meet somebody special. You can also easily study or do paper work that normally would take you months. But double-check any travel plans as things could go wrong or be mislaid.

A lot of people do not realise that the Sun moves into the 12 signs of the zodiac on slightly different dates each year. Aries 20 March – 19 April

Ongoing concerns around your job will pop up again this month. You may as well accept that your frustration is because you want a change. And the only way to get that; is to change! There is a delightful celebration to enjoy so let yourself feel young at heart. There will soon be something important to discuss so have your own ideas ready.

Taurus 20 April – 20 May

Accept that you are tied to where you are at the moment. The time to move in another direction is not yet here. Enjoy where you are; as home is where the heart is. Young people or children, probably yours, will let you know that they a new direction for themselves. Keep yourself in the loop, as things will progress quickly.

Gemini 21 May – 20 June

If you want to stay calm then stay out of any work issues. They are reacting emotionally and it will soon pass. Family will take up your time and attention and there is a need to pick up the phone or go for a visit. It’s a great month to make decisions that benefit everybody.

Cancer 21 June – 21 July

It’s time to move, literally and figuratively, as there is a building restlessness in you that need release. Perhaps this means a lot of travel; even local travel. The car may as well be your home this month. Long distance travel, aka a holiday, would be perfect! Let loved ones have their work issues. Its time for you to stretch you wings.

Leo 22 July – 22 Aug

The goddess of love and good times enters Leo giving you a sense of magnetic attraction and opportunities. Imagine the best, and it will happen; but imagine the worse and it will also happen. The great lady will try to give you the picture you carry in your head and heart.  So it’s time to change the picture; and be real quick about it!

Virgo 23 Aug – 22 Sep

You have information that you must share with another and this will be an emotional time for them. And you can help by simply being there. The coming New Moon in your sign is a great time to start new plans or implement ideas for your future. Children continue to be a source of worry; but as a Virgo you do that anyhow!

Libra 23 Sep – 22 Oct

I hope everyone else lets you get the quiet time you need. It’s a time to reflect and notice past patterns, which may be part of family history. Why do the stars give us motivation to do this? Well I think sometimes we may need to clearly see the past to change the future. Reflect, learn, listen and speak.

Scorpio 23 Oct – 21 Nov

Good luck enters your work zone so expect some progress. The stars do what they can and this time they cannot fix it; but they will improve it. It seems you cannot speak, or that others do not understand what you are saying. Align yourself with a group as a united front can achieve great things. And they can speak for you!

Sagittarius 22 Nov – 20 Dec

There are lots going on in the place you work or in your role in the community with new expectations. Do you want to step up and take on a different role? You better plan real quickly; or “they” will decide what you are doing. You want to hang onto your money but somehow it’s always needed, and not necessarily by you!

Capricorn 21 Dec – 19 Jan

Now is the time to learn something. When you are feeling restless, uptight or even nervous, you will know that your mind needs to be exercised! It’s like Black Caviar at the start of the race. Raring to go! Study of any sort will help you relax and adapt to changes. Giving the house a makeover will dissipate some of your mental energy.

Aquarius 20 Jan – 17 Feb

You are about to enter secret places. Hidden information will reveal itself. And keeping things dark and quiet is not something you are necessarily good at. So think carefully before you blurt out the truth. It may be needed; or it may not. Or it may just need to stay with you.  Oh.. and do be careful about lending or borrowing anything.

Pisces 18 Feb – 19 March

This month is all about meeting new people, making new friends, talking and networking. So get a bigger phone plan in case you go over your cap. Especially as money will continue to be an issue over the coming months. If I were you I’d start a budget and stick to it so you can achieve your long-term goals.

2nd Aug Full Moon in Aquarius

7th Aug Venus enters Cancer

8th Aug Mercury goes direct in Leo

18th Aug New Moon in Leo

23rd Aug Sun enters Virgo

24th Mars enters Scorpio

31st Full Moon in Pisces. This is the second Full Moon in one month and is known as a Blue Moon.

What’s that in the sky?

For all you night owls

Mars and Saturn are slowly moving down to the western horizon and will be gone by 10.30pm. Let the Moon be your guide when she moves close to them on the 21st and 22nd August.

The bright star close by is Spica which is the wheat in the hand of the constellation of Virgo. The Scorpion is high overhead and easy to see. Let the Moon be your guide when she is between his nippers on the 24th. Look south to see the Southern Cross lying on its side.

For all you early birds

Venus and Jupiter are still visible, but no longer close together.  Venus is the brightest one as she is so close to us. Jupiter may be the biggest but he is far away.

Let the Moon be your guide when she will be near Jupiter on the 12th August and near Venus on the 14th.

The bright star close to Jupiter is Aldebaran in eye of Taurus the Bull and if you look to the left you can see the Pleiades also known as the 7 Sisters.

The Southern Cross may be difficult to see in hilly country or those with street lights as it is nearly on the southern horizon.

News from the Stars

Time Zone AEST

3rd July Mars enters Libra

4th July Full Moon in Capricorn

13th July Uranus goes Retrograde in Aries

15th July Mercury goes retrograde in Leo

19th July New Moon in Cancer

22nd July Sun enters Leo

For all you night owls

Early this month you can catch a glimpse of Mercury just after sun set on the western horizon. But not for long; as he will soon be so close to the Sun that we will not be able to see him. If you sit for even half an hour and watch the horizon near to where the Sun set, you will notice a light that is moving faster than the other background stars. That light is Mercury.

Mercury is pictured as the ancient god with wings on his feet. This is because of his speed as we only catch brief glimpses of him. In ancient times if he was clearly visible or in a significant position then the oracle would say that news that would come from afar!

Mars and Saturn are visible in the evening but will set and disappear in the western horizon about 10pm. The brightest star next to Saturn is Spica which is the sheaf of wheat hanging from the hand of the Virgin. Let the Moon be your guide as she will be next to Mars on the 24th July. And next to Saturn on the 25th July.

All through this month if you look towards the south you will see the Southern Cross lying on its side. Then look upwards to see the constellation of the Scorpion which is looming high overhead. Pick out the huge magnificent curve of his tail that goes into the Milky Way. Some of you with city lights will not be able to see the Milky Way, but I bet you can still see the Scorpion! Let the Moon be your guide as she will sitting on the Scorpion’s head on the 2nd July.

For all you early birds

The goddess is back! Hail to the goddess! After her passing over the Sun, Venus will return; making her appearance alongside Jupiter.  They are a brilliant sight as they are close to the bright star Aldebaran in the eye of Taurus the Bull, and to the Pleiades in the heart of the Bull. And even better on the 15th and 16th July when the Moon will join with them to brighten up our predawn morning skies.  They are worth being cold as you go outside to have a look. Join me, as I will be outside appreciating the beauty; and being cold!

Have fun in the stars

“When spider webs unite, then can tie up a lion.”  Ethiopian proverb

United we stand; divided we fall.        60’s song

                                                    *

For all you night owls

Venus and Jupiter will be rapidly following the Sun below the horizon. During April Venus will be slowly passing over the Pleiades, also known as the 7 Sisters. I will be making sure I see that!

Look overhead to see Mars shining with a reddish glow. Let the Moon be your guide when she passes close by on the 3rd and 4th April.

Saturn will be in further to the east and will be difficult to spot. Let the Moon be your guide as she will be nearby on the 7th April.

For all you early birds

The magnificent Scorpion will be directly overhead. I always get a kick out of seeing him. Reddish Antares is the star of his head and the long sweep of his tail lies in the Milky Way. If you have never seen him; look for the curve of his tail and think BIG! He is so clear you will wonder why you never saw him before. Let the Moon be your guide as she will be stuck right between his pincers on the 10th April. Not a comfy place for the great Moon goddess!

The Southern Cross can be seen lying on its side in the south. Mercury will be briefly visible in the eastern skies just before the Sun rises, and Saturn will be setting in the west. Let the Moon be your guide when she is close to Saturn on the 7th April and close to Mercury on the 19th April.
